Banded mail pieces come from the faden magus. You can use Flaw, the Thane of Glamis, Ruell Brakken, or any other npcs that are the same level as those guys. *peer* Of course, you're going to have to be pretty lucky to get ghost pieces. I've yet to see a full set of either banded mail or platemail ghost eq.
The banded mail pieces aren't as good as the platemail eq... so if you're going to waste the time to kill the demons over and over to possibly get ghost eq, ya might as well use Sati's corpse, and go for the platemail stuff instead. Of course, the magus also gives up the elemental orbs, and there's never any in the shops. So it would be more beneficial for you to kill maguseses over and over. *nod*

Well, the banded mail versus platemail piece arguement is really personal opinion. Banded mail ghost pieces are adequate but of course have a chance to let a successful attack go through your harmlessly. The banded mail pieces can be blessed to a splendid protection, as well, which is +1 compared to platemail ghost. Also, I believe a banded helm weighs 2 while all other banded pieces weigh 3, so a complete banded ghost set would weigh 10 and eval splendid everywhere.
On the otherhand, clerics aren't always available to bless, let alone be willing to do multiple blesses. So, sometimes the fine/insubstanstial has to do. But, I guess if you ARE a cleric, banded mail is the winner.
