its not questish, at least from what i know. if it is, tell me and i'll remove this:
dirs to area: 11s17w6ses10e10s3e3s3w4s4w
sw, w, push rock, enter opening, sw, search crack (gets you ring), w, w, s, enter crack, d, d, s, s, e, s, search e wall, put ring in door, e
this will take you to jainesian (sp?). search corpse to get him to appear. he will either have grd, or rondel as the non-unique. also, if you search bottles, you can get mead, which heals about 5 hps/sps.

I have found that this NPC will, on occasion, needs to be killed, while he only has the rondel dagger, in order for him to reset with the GRD. Sometimes, more than once. Is this just me or is it the nature of this item/NPC?

Well, generally speaking, when you're dealing with a unique weapon, if he has the non-unique equivilant, you will need to kill him more than once to get it to reset. Unless, of course, someone already has the GRD... then you can kill him till the cows come home, and all you'll get is a nifty collection of rondel daggers. So yeah... it's pretty much the nature of -any- unique.
