what do you guys say? It would make leveling the low levels a bit more fun. Also, maybe have armor caps for certain class. I.E. Necros couldn't wear anything but light body, and cloth armor. Mages get through leathers, ect. Or perhaps (atleast) no more level 1's in full platemail.... it just ruins the game/struggle (though, it is their choice) your thoughts?

There's already a psuedo-cap in place. It's called item weight. A lowbie with low strength will be hard pressed to carry armour along with a weapon and a few heals. Besides, I don't think an utter in platemail is going to do all that much better than an utter that is nekkid. It's all about actually hitting something enough for it to die. If you get hurt, just sleep at the manor. Or run cx until you can buy a few meds. The stuff you'll be fighting at that level won't do much more damage than the meds will heal.
Of course, I generally do cx until level 5 or 6, so I don't have to deal with all that. *shrug*

Uh... no? How exactly would it make leveling the low levels a bit more fun? It doesn't matter for most classes, granted... but for most of my newbies, as soon as they can carry their weapon, shield, and a good armour (used to be fine plate, radiant, turkey robe, etc) they use them. It's the difference between killing rats and zombies for 3 minutes, healing for 5, killing for 3, healing for 5.... or killing for 15 and wiping out the entire ghost ship, healing for 5, then wiping out some other newbie area. You spend a heck of a lot more time in combat, killing things (or trying to), and less time healing, if you use good eq at low levels. And personally, making it so I couldn't use good eq on a lowbie, and making me spend even more time to raise one up... would NOT be "fun" for me. Making the game harder for no good purpose isn't my idea of a good thing. And as far as different classes having armour caps..... why bother? Most necros know that they don't need full eq as it is, and that it really isn't much of a benefit, unless they're playing the tanking necro, bashing rev method. Magelings get more out of dodging nekkid than playing large steel covered, slow moving targets. And it also lets you play out of the box if you so desire. An elf mage with ichor and full dressings? Uh. Ok. Rotsa Ruck with heal management, weakling. But, if you want to try it, you can. (And if your name rhymes with Fanstro or Phynst, you can actually pull some scary numbers...) So yeah, I guess the basic point with level requirements for armours is..... why bother?
