Mandrake, or Mandragora, is a plant with great magical qualities. The root of the Mandrake can be used in numerous spells, some of them very strong. It's most common use is in a restorative draught, which revives people who have been petrified. The scream of the Mandrake is fatal to anyone who hears it.
At least, that's what Hermione Granger said in Harry Potter. ;D
And as far as I know, the mandrake in AA is one of those "Let's code half of the stuff for something, and get it into the game before we get the rest of it done, so that people can get stocked up on them for 2 years before they can actually use the damn things". As far as I know, (not that I play my magelings other than to perm stuff, so I could be dead wrong) the spells that use mandrakes ain't been put in yet.

it is something used by the powers that be to keep you hooked on the game.
"yes, one day, 'soon', you'll be able to use these to cast powerful spells for a class that (insert lung sarcasm) hasn't had enough boosts over the years. just keep logging in day after day and one day we'll add it to keep some of the playerbase we have left. player houses and clans, something you have asked for for years, will be added 2-3 years after mandrake spells."

Grasslands (s,e) A roan mare. A mandrake plant. > pick mandrake The plant is not yet mature. > kill mandrake You rip the leaves off the plant, and stomp on the remains until they have been totally destroyed and nothing is left to show which plant once grew here.
stupid mages!

From AA's mages board...
search wall search alcove remove gem search platform get rock chip rock place both gems on top of the platform and type 'pay homage' one Ice Storm good to go.
Anyone test out these ice storms to see if they do much damage?

Well, that netted me precisely the reaction I'd expected, but worth asking, I guess. Problem is that I run around the mud in brief mode hitting things...I don't geo, and I hate exploring. Anytime I have to look around at a room, and search things and smell things and listen to things it makes me feel like I'm going to hurl chunks. So, after more than a decade of anguishing, I still know jack about room descriptions. Now I'm going to return to my tea party with Mr. Clyde frog and Polly prissy-pants, thank you very much.
