what do you guys think of this? I soloed for about an hour w/ this, and managed about 65k exp and 40kish coins, along with 28k for ichor once I auctioned it (total net gain of 65k exp and 68k coins at level 14-15) and I was wondering, what's everyone's opinion on using it. Is it useful, or was I just waisting inv space and time? (I literally had to run to town to sell stuff after each area)

the most important thing when trying something new is determining how well it worked for you, not how well it works for someone else.
if you are happy with the results from your run (cash+exp), then i say get it everytime you are on. *duck calvin* but, if you are able to do better with a different armour, then i say use that.
you also have to take into account the playability of the said piece of armour. you mentioned in your note that you had to go back and forth to town to sell after every kill. did you enjoy this? or is this something you can live to deal with because of the armour?
what works for one person doesn't necessarily work for everyone.

Yeah. Ichor sucks. Yeah. Definitely, definitely sucks. Pillar buys his socks at K-Mart.
*peer* Like Pillar said... if it works for you, and you enjoy using it, use it. If you can't stand running from one kill to the shop to the next kill to the shop all night..... don't use it.
I pretty much don't touch Ichor unless I plan on tanking, because I really don't like the kill run sell run sell run sell next kill routine. But if you have 2-3 bashers carryin the eq, and maybe one doing knigs, then ichor is ok. It really only truly comes into its own when you're running 500k/hr plus parties. Anything below that, I'd say star armour, aog/hoh, even blessed radiant and trimmings are better.

thanks you guys, good advice, but I only managed about 5k with it on in an hour, and I was wondering if it is wise to spend upwards 20k just for that extra 5k exp. Also, I don't like trying to get AoG/HoH, because gclaiming is more of a hastle to me, and you really only have a shot after reboot (usually don't play much then)...

two things:
1. you can outclaim anyone at any time during a boot. it doesn't have to be right at reboot. yes, it is easier to get discoveries then (because the bears only know the ones in tant and 3 rooms away), but there are plenty to displace anyone.
2. the mud reboots on a 25-hour time period, meaning that it doesn't reboot at the same time every day. if you are not able to get on during a reboot, wait a while and it'll eventually get to the time that you are on.

I know about boots and boot time. I usually stay off during them, as there are (usually) a large abundance of people killing the "higher up" mobs for uniques ect. Carcera, and some of the other "unique holding" monster are part of my runs, and a necro with a lich wielding 2 staves going after a unique is something that I dislike (when I want exp) ps, what happened to scythe? I left for a year and you guys stop claiming?

Think it was because Machine left and Levek started gclaiming like crazy. also because scythe dont need to depend on getting AoG to tank

Think it was because Machine left and Levek started gclaiming like crazy. also because scythe dont need to depend on getting AoG to tank nor do 99% of the other players, but it still helps.

Think it's more of a "Levek started gclaiming like crazy, and the rest of the bears realized that hey, they can actually do something that might get on the Scythers nerves... and any monkey with a map, medicinals and a pipe can claim 95% of the rooms on AA... and after a few weeks of this, the Scythers basically came to the realization that the Geo knapsacks weren't worth it, because in the time we spent burying the cubs, we could've gone out and made a few hundred thousand exp... I mean, the ONLY reason that Scythe always owned Geo, was because we got to use the knapsacks (and/or aog/hoh) and they are the best, biggest carrying containers on AA, and they made us a little more efficient in making things dead. But, like I said, it ain't worth wasting an hour or two to get better containers, when we coulda been slaying using silk packs and soft sacks.
So we let the clueless little cubs get their jollies, thinking they actually can beat the Scythe at something. And it also had the fringe benefit of making a few of the clueless leech types that were just in Scythe because of the uniques and geo knapsacks leave and go back to bears where they belong. *shrug*
