Something I've seen bandied about by a couple people but never actually done, which I think would be loads of fun...a Revenant-dual competition. Simple to do, all u need is two necros willing to stop their favorite route for awhile and entertain the citizenry(sp). Simply get your fav Rev, put the weaps on it you want, and let em fly, one necessary aspect would be betting. Someone (reputable) could serve as bookie and make odds even...either way the winnah could stand to take a sizable purse (I'd personally be willing to put 10k+ on each fight). Eventually, a few elete few would emerge as clearly superior and you could have quarter, and semifinals and then a battle royal for the final, with earnings going up accordingly. I'd say best two out of three for elimination would be good to keep the variables down as much as possible. Another obvious thing would be no identical revs with identical weaps, if you wanted to both use the same rev, it would be mantitory that your weaps be different, to pinpoint which weap combo was superior. Also I'd personally like to see, if the revs were different, that they use the SAME weaps, to pinpoint which rev was better, but I think that would only be necessary in the prelims
This would not by any means be the way of finding the end-all VERY best undead for your purposes since everybody has a different playing style and does different routes and so on, but it would be, I believe...
1) Fun as all hell.
2) Create a lot of interesting data and discussion
3) Oportunity for fun and profit for the masters of the winningest revs.
P.s I had an opportunity to see a rev of Illarin take on a rev of Philip, both wielding dual flinty's (before arrow nerfage) and it was enlightening
P.P.s I picture a long process, taking many boots, with only 1 to a few fights per boot maybe, so there wouldn't be any rush and it'd be something to look forward to in the long run. Also in the later rounds, you would perhaps have to ban uniques, unless u could satisfy both parties that they each have a unique or uniques of equal value (prolly hard to do). Anyway, that's my two bits, I think it would be a ton o' fun and interesting to boot, let me know what you folks think.
Peace, da smoo.
