i looked some at susmurf skill stats and ghanimX skill stats when changing into mage from fighter and i looked at my elf aromn when he changed from fighter to mage and i found this:
Susmurf (orc) 90 staff -> 40 staff = aprox 55% of the skill lost Lala (orc) 70 staff -> 31 staff = aprox 55% of the skill lost Aromn (elf) 97 staff -> 43 staff = aprox 55% of the skill lost
so if this is correct... if u get 100 staff u'll only get 45 staff when u turn into mage.

You're exactly right. I had no clue that my posts on blessing patchwork armours, making really rocking battle suits, would be thrown back at me with the addition (of what I call a downgrade) of a newer, kinder bless prayer. So, therefore, I won't ever be posting any type of information again. Sorry guys.

got some more numbers from sarc.. helf fighter -> mage at lvl 17
he wasn't exactly sure about numbers thou... but here goes, he ended up with 42 staff (he seem sure about that thou)
before.........after 85 staff.......42 staff (or) 84 staff.......42 staff
first one..........43 lost = 50,6% second one......42 lost = 50,0%
i'm thinkin that it's the second one that's correct: lvl 19 - u loose ~55,0% lvl 18 - u loose ~52,5% lvl 17 - u loose ~50,0% and so forth, BUT these numbers are only bashed on staff skill... i have some other numbers on other skills too but i won't post 'em until i have atleast 1 more log to compare with

Not to say "I told ya so".... but this is from a post on the Necro's Guide to Efficiency thread I did on April 22nd, 2003..... Armour combinations, weapon evals, good and evil npcs for allignment, that stuff is fine to pass out. But the location of all the free heals? How to do things that we were not intended to be able to do by the coders that benefit our playing (tricks, etc)? (That, btw, the wizards now have documented now on this forum, and are probably working on fixing some of the "tricks" we've posted on here...) God I hate being right... *sigh* and I been trying to point that out for years...

And you wonder why I'm so antisocial eh?
So far I've only given out one trick and luckily it doesn't work atm, so not much of a trick to give out.
Of course I don't have much left if any. All I have is my puny solo necro circle.

I posted what I thought was helpful info, and something pretty neat to know. I wanted other ppl to know, so they could use steel patchwork if AoG was being hogged, because I really don't like fine platemail. And why should I stop looking for something better then fine platemail? I found something, and there was no point in me keeping it a secret when all anyone had to do was examine me and find out what I use. *shrug*
