--------------------------------- pray info remake You call the gods for info about the remake prayer. You hear a voice in your head saying:
Remake a stick in your inventory into a snake, or a snake in your environment into a stick. Not all snakes will appreciate your attempt to remake them.
It costs 40 spellpoints to cast. -----------------------------------
Can only remake a staff into a snake while in combat, seems to take three rounds to cast. Snake foo's after the fight is over unless you remake it into a staff again. Don't seem to be getting the same snake from the sanme staff every time. (Downgrades with each use maybe?)
Any thoughts?
So far all I've noticed is that the type of snake is dependant on the staff/stick used, and visa-versa. Don't have a big enough cleric to heavily test it, but there are some nifty uses. Dependant on staff/snake, wis, level?

disclaimer: i have never and will never use this spell.
that being said,
its probably not worth the spell points:benefit ratio.

Also, the idea for the prayer is not very original ;-) *peer* Of course, Moses won't come & sue AA for stealing his stuff... But still... Hmm.

It's about time they coded something to make Bazhi's staff go limp

I thought they added Wobkip to the game a LONG time ago to take care of that?

The prayer info says you have to remake a stick, but just need something wooden. Because you have to start combat first, the snake can't tank for you. Snake will wait in the room (snake pauses it's fight and waits for you to tank again) if you leave and it can never move.
Remake weapon, get snake. Remake snake, get worse staff than original weapon (couple new staves were coded for it, and the weapon you get back is always staff)
The stick in the Tantallon quest worked (rapier), but wooden staff is much easier to find.
Bought a few staves and made snakes, these are the ones I got. If more than 2 weaps gave the same snake I listed 2.
Biggest first Banded krait - from carved staff and pikestaff Rattle snake - from expensive short staff (Mt Kresh?) Chain viper - sturdy oak staff, antique staff Fierce snake - brannon short bow, quarterstaff bamboo snake - from remade chain viper painted keelback - light staff from Fredd Garter Snake - from remade painted keelback Corn snake - sewer stick
Must be based on damage rather than difficulty, antique staff pretty high.
The snake degrades way too fast as you remake it, and blocks all other prayers for a few rounds. I guess it could be useful at low levels if you can find some big sticks, or you could probably drop a snake so a friend can hit and run without having to tank.
Anyone raising a cleric? Don't know what wisdom required.

RE: This and the last post, I'm a level 25 orc cleric, 15 wis
I just killed one of my banded kraits
Party: 1365xp Hits: 806 xp 400HP? (2 xp per HP of damage right?)
I fought the snake with beast slayer for a while then killed it properly. Had some mediocre armour from typing powerup (killed glock and brannon) Skull helmet, fine fur vest, stylish cloak, deerskin leggings
Avg hit 9.2 HP ; Biggest hit 17 HP
Avg poison hit 18HP Biggest poison hit 28HP
After 4 poisons I was 'poisoned' and did neutralize After another 2 poisons I was 'slightly poisoned' and needed 2 x pray slow
It hit me over 90% of the time, the biggest streak of misses was only 3 in 55ish rounds of combat, and there were a few streaks of over 10 hits (With the above armour and defend none)
It was stronger than I expected, however it still blocks prayers for a few rounds at the start and requires you to keep getting a good staff. It could be useful against the new super big guys. Suddenly 45SP and a staff is very cheap for 5 minutes of bashing.
PS. Just checked with newbie, it takes 8 wisdom

With a lowbie cleric remake is quite useful. (I'll eat my words) You don't pick up on the xp from the snake but you can take down much bigger kills solely for eq. The remake prayer didn't fail me solely for being low level (some maybe failed because they're made of steel?)
Anyway, just do a couple of corpses to the butcher, sell some gems, grapples etc and you can buy staffs, or kill the smiling citizen and other pansies. Once you have some staffs you can quite easily pick up a bunch of decent equipment (One decent snake hits twice as hard as you do)
It can't tank, but if you drop 2 snakes you only have to stick it out for a few fixes because the snakes will hit harder than you, and on slightly bigger things you'll be lucky to hit at all while the snakes are consistently bashing your opponent.
All this is irrelevant if the shops are stocked and you know how to make a few coins.

On my newbie cleric I tried to remake a regular NPC snake and all it did was make it go away. I was hoping I could get a staff out of it. That would be a easy way to get a semi-decent staff. I was sad and promptly never touched remake again.
