You don't have to use the npc to train the wolf, start train these at these sizes;
Large = carry Very large = guard Huge = rescue
Dodge and ravage u can do at once when wolf is tamed, but i don't know if a wolf/dog below wis 5 can, i trained as many others a sylvantic large puppy (wis 5)
i have also heard it take aprox 10 hours from train/bond before it shed
flynn had his wolf 75 hours before enormous, but he also got his wolf killed once... i know this is paradox info but it's always something

ravage and dodge u can start practice right away... my sylvantic pup can dodge and ravage corpses
ravage - point corpse, say ravage |name of wolf| dodge - have wolf tank easy stuff and solo is best (i think), i had my wolf fight ravel ants, wasps and spiders and the smallest goblins, dodges pretty good now
use observe often to see if u need to scratch wolf or how his dex is coming along (dodge)
the training carry is same shit as ravage, point at thingy and say wolf name plus carry (when wolf is "large trained wolf" or bigger) maybe in the beginning he/she won't do it but keep on bugging the bug time to time and boom he will carry a bottle, his strength getts bigger during the period of time he carries etc etc
ps. all this nonsens i have asked others, i have yet not tried it myself so i can't say 100%, but dodge and ravage should work right away if u trained the large sylv pup ds.

first of all, thanks peblo for the information. i think that in my case, i like exploring class changes more than i like exploring game/area changes (with the exception of shifters.. bleh!) anyways...
i will try working dodge and ravage tonight. i'm not sure on how much i will work ravage though because as a chaoser with low karma, i need all the help i can get ;D
one more question though: i know about observing your wolf to see how it's doing. but what were you referring to when you said 'scratching'?
sorry for all the questions but since i've been gone for awhile, i've missed a lot. danke!

let the wolf ravage a corpse when it's hurt... it's said that it get the wolf more meat than u carving the corpse
scratch - if u haven't scratched the wolf much it will say in the observe info that this wolf aren't scratch much or something like that, maybe they need much affection to bare with ya.. no clue.. heheh
happy huntin /peblo
ps. i'm like u p. exploring classes are way more fun that exploring an area, i don't have that quest/exploring mind that is needed to explore an area or solve a quest ds.
