It's not as hard as it seems. Just make aliases that make sense for you, that you can type as fast as possible. Most of my aliases, I wouldn't suggest for someone else, cuz they don't really make any sense, and take some time to type. But... I've been using them for so many years that it's second nature for me to hit em, so I don't even notice. I'd suggest using 1 button aliases as much as possible, since they're faster to type. All you gotta do is remember which does which. Like z drop all food, x drop all potion, c get all food, v get all potion.... *shrug* What matters isn't what aliases you use... it's how fast you can use em.

As a basher carrying heals, best thing is keep selling the heals, until the tank realizes he should carry them himself. *winkwink*
Or if you wanna do it like these old geezer want you to and dropping and picking up heals. Then pick up heals about when npcs goes sw, so tank don't have to wait after the kill for ou to pick up. If tank can't kill from sw to dead without eating of ground, he deserves to die anyway.

After a month of getting back into the game, I can probably somewhat measure up the expectations laid out by the likes of Machine and other veteran players.
With the introduction of dem-der traits, I think it's finally time for the tank to manage the goddamn heals though. Get packmule up as high as possible, and then when it gets to be where it costs a lot, save up for exceptional strength and such. Also, as a tank, you pretty much HAVE to get clean spirit, because it takes about an hour from the time you request a purge, until you actually get one (unless a cleric is in your party).
So alias fft ffinger mytank (for when the tank asks you to manage heals.)
Also, cut down on all the areas where it requires all of the bashers to "do stuff". Does Proud Knight really need to be killed right now? A lot of peeps are needlessly avoiding newer areas.
Unless the people in this thread start actually playing again, parties just aren't frequent enough for this sort of bashing to be expected. Especially all the kill aliases. Sure I'll do that, but if you shun your basher who assists, you just got rid of the only possible basher you will have for weeks.
Sure, I can probably manage, but nonetheless, bashers also treat the tank like a babysitter. With paware, you shouldn't have to use a "RESCUE ME" alias. A basher needs to know where to go to flee out of every area in case of emergency, and be prepared to quite/disconnect at any moment, and the tank should be spamming his rescues a lot. Chances are if it's time to say "RESCUE" it's time to GTFO. Meanwhile, take your hits and be patient. Maybe it's all part of a perfect tanking plan, and you're SUPPOSED to get hit 2-3 rounds, you ARE an orc afterall.
Also, you have places like Morr that require the basher to do stuff, but avoid that area too. Save the stacked NPCs there for AFTER the party, and hoard the EXP to yourself. Those bashers don't deserve it anyway. None of the powerplayers go there (thoroughly).
It's just not the same anymore.

I'm going to take that as a joke.
There's no way he was serious.

Great thread, even if it is old. This should be required reading. *takes notes*
