So, I'm working on an Elf Reptile Shifter. It is going to be a purely defensive spec.
Right now I have the following: Dodger 1 Healthy 1 Relaxed Mind 1
I'm going to be adding: Hard Skinned 1/2/3 Relaxed Mind 2/3 Dodger 2/3 Healthy 2/3
However, I'm curious as to what other traits you think would be the most viable?
Healing Traits: Glutton - Allows you to eat more and more often. Drunkard - Allows you to drink more and more often. Medic - Allows to bind successfully at higher drunk rate, tying in to drunkard.
Tolerance Trait: Clean Spirit - Reduce tolerance from potions, but would potions be used much?
Weight/Management Traits: Packmule - Carry more. Does this effect weight/encumberance dodging since it takes on more to the ext encumbered end?
HPS/SPS/Resistances Traits: Sturdy - Adds +10 to max hps, since elf. But is it worth it at higher levels. Clear Minded - Adds +10 to max sps, same logic. Insulated - Adds to resistances, which is always a good thing. Magic Resistant - Adds to resistances, which is always a good thing.
So aside from the healthy/hard skinned/dodger/rm, what would you add next?

I'd think the most important of those is glutton, because eating more is both hp and sp. Drunkard is less useful as you say, being able to get more drunk has its problems with binding wounds. I've not tried medic with it, it's a good idea.
Clean spirit - enough people out there have clerics and there's also the sauna to remove that stuff yourself.
Packmule - it's probably just a straight +1 to carrying capacity, rather than -1 to your current weight. That's easy to test with a new character, are they unencumbured with packmule 1 carrying a bottle? If not, the effect on dodge is going to be TINY.
Sturdy, yep. Good trait. Get this after glutton. Clear minded, yep. Good trait.
Of the resistances, having played fluon for ages I've gotta say fire resistance is the king resistance! Regretably that means that snowfolk get screwed over, so if you were totally commited on having the absolute best tanking setup, you'd have to change guild. Insulated also only gives +5, which won't be too noticeable.
I feel the best defensive trait is pure soul, because screw losing millions of exp when dying! I get that on anyone I'm expecting to take hits on.
