So I heard Two Weapon with Rogue is crap and shouldn't bother because you have alert combat....but what about if your being a basher and don't tank...is it possibly worth trying then?

It would be if you're just bashing, but then if you're just bashing you'd be better off going fighter, you skill faster, hit harder and don't need to hit so many commands to be good. Much more fun!
Also since you're an elf rogue judging by your other post, something that might be worth trying before two weapon is two handed sword for elvenheart, a giant unique that gives elves +4 strength or something. It's the bashing elf rogue weapon of choice. The bashing elf ANYTHING weapon of choice really. 2hs probably raises faster than two weapon would too.

Well if you've already made your mind up, why ask?
That said, your best bet to raise it as a rogue is probably going to be shortswords. Dual butterfly swords dramatically increase the chances of getting a second attack, and if you get it to a decent size serrated swords will do a lot of damage. Plus if you ever do try to tank, there are many nearly perfect parry shortswords now, and it raises about as fast as curved blade/rapier.

Well, I've played rogue...orc mostly, best for combat imho *gaze* elves can be nice, especially with Elvie, but basing a character on 1 unique is pretty lame so id say elves are most fsick with cblade, and like vfine trillian knife of mastery with some kind of sweet 2wep ability that let them use two wep AND alert *gaze* but just a passing thought...I mean, pallys and just about anyone else, even ficers can do at level 22 is a form of trip. that takes away a huge advantage that alternate fighters used to have. they need something new....its been a while...but on this: Posted by Hirako on May 11, 2008, 6:15pm So I heard Two Weapon with Rogue is crap and shouldn't bother because you have alert combat....but what about if your being a basher and don't tank...is it possibly worth trying then? Two wep is ALWAYS good for bashing...its the weapon choice that matters more. I don't know if I agree with the first part of this statement, for non fighters that is. 2w without berserk, really doesn't do a hell of a lot of damage unless you got 80+ 2w skill which needless to say is not very easy to get as a non fighter. And like you say, weapon choice is key too. So I guess it all depends on your definition of 'bashing' but for me its always been to do as much damage as possible in a short a time as possible (cost effectively). Correct me if im wrong but if your dual wielding you can't use a secondary, and a rogues secondary does a significant amount of damage. Granted, my 2w experience is from a paladin, who doesn't have the dex that a rogue does (only 15 with a trait), so it may be true that those extra 2 or 3 dex points make a huge difference to the hit/miss ratio. Be interested to hear from the 3 or 4 rogues that do have very high 2w skill on just how the damage output compares.

Below shows xp at two wep skill 2-10...Orc rogue, dualed 95 percent of that xp...Varous weps, steel bacskswords, serrated shortswords, sharpned keen steel scimitars, butterfly swords, silver longswords ...Had es two wep almost the entire time, no int boosters.
2. 102,271,100 3. ?? 4. 102,453,738 5. 102,707,418 6. 102,757,308 7. 102,901,619 8. 103,206,002 9. 103,281,006 10. 103,340,064
Gonna be a long hard road...Dualing while alert means less alert combat bonus than using a secondary but still a solid +128 (for me)...Ussualy +174 with secondary for comparison..
Steel backswords give bonus to parry/riposte meaning up to +227 when dualed but weighing three each they are a touch heavy...Using backsword in main and something lighter in off gives less of a bonus (still around +175) but seem to hit a lot better.
High level rogues have huge natural ac with just basic eq and a good parry wep...so Im more than prepared to sacrfice some ac(disregarding backsword) for dealing more damage....

RE: Elf rogues, I may try one dualing shortswords. I found ss to do damage comparable to cblades that elves can use, at least for regular wielding. The steel backsword is nice for parry, but with 95 cblade and expert 2 I was being outclaimed by a smaller orc with osabre, 78 cblade and no expert... so aside from flamberge, cblade loses my vote as primary wep for my elf rogue. My next elf Rogue is going to go SoT/Elvie/dual ss... maybe some other skills, too once I get ex. str. I've noticed SoT with 2 expert in staff at 69 skill outdoes nonexperted elvie with 74 skill. Will experiment some more.
