Anyone worked out the dungeon in Infidian yet? I was too afraid to touch anything in case I got poisoned, but I did get a helmet, a sabre, a bowl of ashes, a key, and a really fun selection of torture implements. There's a hole that I can't enter because it might not have a bottom, and I can't anchor a grapple there. Anyone found anything else?

Definitely bring lots of poison control with you if you're exploring Infidian. As I mentioned before in another thread, it was not a smart decision to put that much poison on Infidian with no ready way to heal it. Or, alternatively, explore with a cleric alt. ;D
Explored it a bit. I couldn't enter the hole either. IIRC, it looked like it was essentially the "toilet" for the cell. My guess is that you probably can't get into it. Although, I haven't tried lowering a ladder into it...
The sabre is worthless, as it breaks the first time you enter battle and then works about as well as a broken beast-slayer.

I think the key was for the locked door at the beginning with the skeleton with the helmet and sabre and ashes.
edit: ooh, if the bronze sabre breaks first hit, maybe try the old beast slayer trick with it?

Grom, you can remove a curse from the sabre. maybe it wont break then, although I havent tried using it when i removed the curse

I'm getting the impression the entire area is to provide ways to really be cruel to the people exploring it or using the items in it. Practically everything you touch gets you poisoned, you have to spend ages destroying gates that fall from nowhere, you get a fever seemingly from just ENTERING the area, the items themselves are designed to cause as much damage to the user as possible..

So in other words, this is the quarry for Infidian? Some piece of shit area that players will try to avoid as much as possible but for some reason gets praised by the wizard community for how much stuff there is to get hurt/killed on?
Has any wizard owned up to this area yet?

The lever controls the gates, when down, the gates won't fall on you. The key is for a treasure chest, according to the id! So there is something else inside the area! I found a satchel with a parchment inside with a riddle on it. I know the answer to the riddle but I don't know what it means in relation to the area or what I should do with it. According to the id it should lead to the treasure.

Well, I haven't even found the satchel, but I'm finished exploring that area. I'm sick of being constantly poisoned/diseased walking though it, curing it, then taking one step and getting poisoned again. I'll just wait for someone else to figure it out and tell me, 'cuz I'm not going back until I know whether or not whatever's there is worth my time.

*snicker* 'join him in his greatness' eh?? *roll*
Sorry, I have this little thing about spoon-feeding people exact directions to something I've figured out before the rest of the mud has a chance to. I figured I'd let ya'll poke around a bit with it first, and then when everyone threw their hands up and said "Fuck this, I'm not ever going back there!!", I'd start putting up hints.
Besides, Tueblo happens to be an old mud bud of mine, and I'd hate to be the only one that bothers to figure out his area. *shrug*
And Grommy..... what's there probably isn't worth your time, just so ya know. It's pretty much a cleric only toy, with limited uses. Neat idea, but the way it works now, it's not really useful, efficient, or worth messing with much. Well, at least, in the limited amount I tested it, anyways.
So.... ya found the parchment with the riddle, and the key. Ya need both. Then ya need to examine the torch holders a bit more. I'm assuming I found everything in the area, but I never did figure out anything to do with the hole, or the chains after you pull them out of the wall. *shrug*

Kinda what I figured, which is why I gave up. I figure if it's really useful, I'll hear about it at some point. But the poison/disease just makes it too much of a PITA to bother exploring, especially since last time I was in there I explored it for about an hour and didn't figure it out. Plus, with it being a cleric item (whatever it is...), certainly doesn't help me much right now. Maybe after I find it, it'll motivate me to grab Thordain again and start tanking with him some more.
Right now, though, I'm on a pretty solid necro kick, and probably will be for a bit. They're my new favorite class. Something about being able to pull 200k - 250k an hour without having to deal with bashers just excites me. ;D
That, and it's the first class I've been able to crack the Hall of Heroes with.
