C'mon ppl. If I was an actual noob, I’d be all buggered hoping to find some info on how to get started. So in contrast I offer advice that you wont find in the help files: 1) no more than 3 beers while playing, and those should be evenly paced. 2) multitasking, i.e. making meals, working on car or similar activities should be avoided while logged on –somewhere, somehow, something bad will happen 3) chasing skirts (or pretty little elf-girl mages) will be detrimental to your actual irl marriage. –if you’re single go for it!

1) Agree. I used to tank so fubarred that I caught myself killing in drak, killing in the monolith, killing in drak again, killing the lizard king/queen, going back to drak, and then to xroads... sit there in a daze for a few seconds, then realize I was tanking.... and try to think of an area to head to before my bashers asked why we were sitting still... so I'd go down to drak. *peer*
2)Agree. Refer to my story about the last time Calvin got killed, Staypuffed tanking, and me stirring my dinner on the stove instead of watching the screen. I blame that death on my girlfriend at the time not being in town.
3) Kilts dude. Kilts. I only wear skirts when I'm modeling them for you.

*shrug* One of dozens... I like to switch it up every so often... nice long periods of hooking up with random chicks in between steady lays. It can get really boring and stale staying with one girl for too long a period. Gotta love having a nice selection. How's the wife, by the way?

Hi all. Just joined up and thought I'd post.
So far I have a fighter and a shifter, both dwarves. So far, the fighter seems quick on the skills and the levels. The shifter is having some difficulty hitting things at what I thought was the same level the fighter was fighting them at. I'm not sure if I'm just delusioned or what, though. I may try a cleric and mage next once the fighter and shifter get boring.
Any ideas on good areas for newbies to go to that aren't exactly newbie areas? e.g. areas with huge mobs, but also some low mobs that a newbie can peck at to spice up the adventure.

fort vaughn. edf camp. knigget retreat(had to throw this in). drakhiya if you know what you're doing. dalair. burnham. undergroun dforest. generally any area with a 9k has a bunch of easier to kill "cash kill" npc's that are profitable even in midlevels.
out of the classes you listed cleric would probably be the best if you are new to aa and/or mudding, as you'll have double hps and can skill fast. ditch the shifter, keep the fighter to learn how to party and you'll be set.
