Clearly though this is a matter of differing opinions and a discussion that has raged on throughout the years by different parties.
The cleric board and it's recent discussion on the changes to bless are just a new variation on an old theme. The powerplayers say that any change that limits their ability to make the same or better amount of exp is horrible and evil. The other side (generally wizzard or exwizards) point out that the change is there for some reason usually non powerplaying related. Both sides get in a huff and an argument ensues for approximately 50 posts. In the end both sides make good points but rarely anything changes.
My mistake was to even try and approach an issue from any side other then the one that the majority of the people here adhere to. Hmm ok perhaps that statement was atagonistic. Let me try again.
My mistake was to dredge up this argument that has occured several times over the years and never been won by either side.

The reason that this argument never seems to end is simple; The wizards can't be wrong. We can argue all we like, present prefectly sound points to why the changes they made are "unbalanced" but in the end it comes down to the wizards being unwilling to admit to making a bad call.
And shifters being made to explore the other aspects of the game aside from xp/combat? You would think that the inability to wield (thus preventing the use of fishing/questing/prospecting/weaving... ect) really shuts out alot of the "non-combat" related aspects of the game.
-Just my 2 cents.

I know that's an old argument I was reading back there (one side has suicided since), but I'd like to point out that I enjoyed the time requirements. Yes, I mean really ENJOYED the time requirements.
Don't get me wrong, I did a metric crapload of killing...but the time I spent patiently smoking a pipe, browsing the various boards, socializing on the lines, working obscure abilities...it was all a lot of fun. I remember those 25 days of activity with a great fondness, and I make sure to recommend the Shapeshifter class to anyone that likes to take a slow, easy pace through Ancient Anguish.
Only a few handfuls of people have maxed, and the only quality they share amongst themselves is patience. If you don't have that, then admit you'd never make a good Shifter and continue to twink your way through AA.
Cheers, Random Maxed Shifter

1/2 briefs, 1/2 boxers. Never commando because of the Zipper and 'There's Something about Mary.' And never a thong because of the thingeyhead.

I think there's a few closets coded in AA... and I'm thinking you need to go find one, and get the heck back into it!

so, after going back and reading all these posts from may, we STILL don't have a time/exp chart. does anyone have one somewhere? people on aa point me towards moot's, but it's not complete. what i want to know is this:
maxxed primary clan times/exp maxxed secondary clan times/exp maxxed tertiary? clan times/exp
if no one has one, we'll just make calvin work a shifter and figure it out for us. i can see it now:
Calvin the master of all forms (pathetic) <piggyshifter>

How many times do I have to tell you... I'm already planning on working up a shifter!!! Just as soon as I hit 1700 skills with Calvin, and 100million exp (or whatever I have to get to hit 1700), and finish off the last three alts I need to have 1 of each class/race combo over 1mill exp, and get 100 club, flail, staff and longsword with bismarck, and get all spells for my 5 magelings, and max abilities for my 5 rogues, and work up a few extra alts that I created along the way when I was bored, and get lvl 19 adventurers with 1mill exp in each race, and get calvinator up to the top of the hoh plaque by doing mad exp runs in each class.... *ponder* And there was a few more things, too... oh yeah... get every single Gaius point with calvin, and finish that stupid quest with the dragon and the ships that I got bored working on... and fully explore all the new areas... *think* So yeah... it's on my to-do list, man, so quit harpin!!!

I don't think I've seen Moot's stuff move in a year. I could be wrong, of course, but I don't think he's changed any numbers.
