From the top ten runs list: ' 7 Rhynst [ ranger] 534580 1h 0m May 31 2005 8 Blayne [ fighter] 524922 1h 0m May 31 2005 '
Are these two related? Because if so. That's a damn scary run.

well, if you have a ranger who can effectively throw a bola, wield a decent weapon, use a big wolf, have some medicine and/or pots, and know a damn about the game, they will prob win everytime... *shrug*

Yup. Very true. That's why I H8.... -------H8--------- rangers. They're so friggin overpowered it's not funny. I've been saying this since the day they released the bonded wolves. After that day, all the sudden all the flower-picking, bunny-skinning, hardest-thing-they-kill-is-big-ogres rangers pop up from out of every nook and cranny and start taking the bigger (worthwhile) kills like huge dragon, hermit, wigwog, riognach, bonebreaker, etc etc. Why? Because now these d@mned wolves are mini-revenants with better defense. Not to mention they skill close enough to a fighter in longsword and two handed axe (the skills most of the wanker ones use), and have a haste-like ability with strike (oh, which was upgraded with level increasments, yay) AAAAND, they can forage up the best heal in the game. Before new wolves, rangers were mini-fighters with some different flavor. Now they're pretty much the best class in the game. Most powerful, too.
I absolutely HATE rangers.

so they can make the best heals in the game, have a mage-like haste, skill as fast as fighters in certain weapon classes, trip an npc like a rogue but without costing sps, have a necro-like ability with pets.. what's next? they get a fix prayer? they all start getting an opossum pouch? no other class can clean out the mud so quickly after boot than a ranger. hands-down.

i don't know what yall are complaining about, spending 40 hours idling and letting a wolf grow is an obvious sign of a good player that deserves a little lagniappe. /sarcasm

la·gniappe ( P ) Pronunciation Key (ln-yp, lnyp) n. Chiefly Southern Louisiana & Mississippi A small gift presented by a storeowner to a customer with the customer's purchase. An extra or unexpected gift or benefit. Also called boot2. See Regional Note at beignet. Regional Note: Lagniappe derives from New World Spanish la ñapa, “the gift,” and ultimately from Quechua yapay, “to give more.” The word came into the rich Creole dialect mixture of New Orleans and there acquired a French spelling. It is still used in the Gulf states, especially southern Louisiana, to denote a little bonus that a friendly shopkeeper might add to a purchase. By extension, it may mean “an extra or unexpected gift or benefit.” Hellllloooooo, www.dictionary.com. Ain't the internet great?
