HAHAHAH, that was the funniest post I've read in a long long time.
"I think the key to taking control of the Geo Society is consistency"
"As Machine noted, we have some big league discoverers in Scythe"
"Other guild members will pick up the sword and understand that THAT THIS IS WHAT WE DO" (emphasis is mine)
Nepeth Gatekeeper 1: What's that I see...there's a large cloud of dust coming towards us. Nepeth Guardsman 2: Yeah...wow....only a huge Scythe army could create that large a cloud!! Nepeth Gatekeeper 1: OMG, we're going to die!!!
As they come closer
Nepeth Gatekeeper 1: No wait...its just a bunch of idiots running around the mud.
Nepeth Gatekeeper 2: Whew...talk about wak waaah.... *cue in Bugs Bunny music*
Let me repeat, I love reboots. While I party hardy, the old school way.
"We party hard to the point of reputation. "
Scythers parties hard the new geoclaiming school way.

shelp concept The Scythe Clan. The concept of the Scythe is not complicated at all: The clan is meant for people that are self-confident,(ok, i'll admit it, there are a few) who don't feel the need to rely on vast numbers for protection(HAHAHAAHAHAHAHAH the irony kills me) nor like to waste time on their way to glory(gclaiming anyone?)
From AA's Website "Halforc always insisted that members rely on their own strength, resourcefulness and cunning rather than constantly depend on others to bail them out of sticky situations." -yep, noone in scythe relies on others. no, really...
"It is this philosophy that has helped make the Scythe the most feared clan in the realm. " -no need to comment

tehlung: Your post does not apply precisely to my statement, on the basis of our guild’s philosophical background. For that reason, I hope your comments were not instigated by my post. “There will, undoubtedly, be individuals who prepare themselves to ride the train. The same goes for the awesome hand-me-down equipment.”. - Individuals who use the Scythe Clan do not hold weight in matters that I discuss. Encouraging them to find a better suited guild can be a slow and painful process for all involved. “With time, I hope we will also maintain any and all perks we can amass without conversation…”. - The Scythe is trying to emerge from a very execrable state. The biggest waste of time “…on (our) way to glory…”, in my opinion, is the bickering and lashing out over matters which can be resolved with swift action. “Halforc always insisted that members rely on their own strength, resourcefulness and cunning rather than constantly depend on others to bail them out of sticky situations.” - Individuals who use the Scythe Clan do not hold weight in matters that I discuss. Encouraging them to find a better suited guild can be a slow and painful process for all involved. In the event your post was just in illumination of a dark time in the Scythe Clan, my rebuttal should stand for anyone who may take your post as accepted knowledge. I, for one, knew what I was getting into before I joined. Thanks. Abyss: I can't type my a-s-s-e-r-t-i-o-n-s. I know why, but that's a little tense.

Well, I guess we should all switch to mages or necros in that case. That way we can all not rely on friends to help get armour, or weapons, or whatever. Necros don't need containers, therefore, don't care about GEO. Mages have DP, therefore don't generally care about knapsacks. But, I'm sorry if it doesn't appease to you self-righteous (and arrogant, might I add) Necro "gods" that I -want- to own GEO so I can use knapsacks to carry eq loot in.
I guess I'll just own GEO for the first 6h of reboot, then use AoG/HoH and solo from now on, then. Oh well.

chacha. anytime someone posts about scythe i always have to get involved and post the joke that guild is. i wasn't trying to flame you, just showing that 90% of scythers are quite the opposite of what the guild says its concept should be. maybe you missed the point of "hand me down eq" and scythers not depending on others. or, typing pwho at any given time, and seeing 4 scythers + 2scythe taggers partying. but yeah, they're fairly self reliant and independant.
machine. homofo you should know that you are one of the 5ish i mentioned earlier. not too many people in scythe can solo hawkeye like you do every reboot for a little ring, or kill for their own weapons and armour, much less witha fighter. <3

tehlung: It’s all gravy baby! I just wanted to make it clear that (as flimsy as I may be) I stood by my comments. Even as you occasionally post in a sarcastic tone, your points still (for the most part *twiddle*) ring so true that they’re both informative and slightly witty. In such a regard, I kinda wanted to stick up for myself a bit. Anywho, the show must go on! Please allow me to gracefully bow out and move on to something more my speed.

You miss the point, Lunger. When you insult "The Scythe", you insult me. The imaginary attitudes, way of life, and reputation for The Scythe guild (in my mind) is what 95% of all my ad&d character had as well. So when I came to AA and found out about The Scythe and felt I was an experienced-enough player, I joined.
What you, and Sinister, are doing is essentially punishing the whole guild due to individuallistic actions. So, by that standard of action I guess I could say Scythe sucks because of people like Wiggintwo, Shiftmanred, and Snoopy being members. As well as Knight's sucking for having such a crap-asss tank-wannabe like Buckingham and Orla. Also Monks suck for having Shy as a member. Then Eldar would suck too, for letting in some alt of Lazway. And finally, Chaos must suck because of Spock, Zafar, and Lazway.
So, while you continually take shots at my guild, I'll continue to take offense. Because the people you're referring to are newbies and nobodies that don't hold enough stature to be considered a Scyther. It takes more than a corpse and nasty alignment to be a Scyther.

"It takes more than a corpse and nasty alignment to be a Scyther."
No matter how many times I hear those words, they still sound fresh and vital to be expressed. *shrug*

Not that I feel the need to even get involved in this whole joke of a discussion.... but Chaca... Are you freakin gay or something?? ?? You're supposed to be a Scyther?? "they still sound fresh and vital to be expressed." ?? ?? ?? Sorry, but am I the only one who read that and heard it in a Richard Simmons, "come on girls, let's GO!" voice? "Individuals who use the Scythe Clan do not hold weight in matters that I discuss. Encouraging them to find a better suited guild can be a slow and painful process for all involved." We heard you the first time. No, really. "Please allow me to gracefully bow out and move on to something more my speed." By all means. As long as it doesn't involve posting notes as a representative of the Scythe.
(and I'm pretty much in agreement with machine on this one... only thing I'll say is that if 90% of the Scythers today are newbie-ish players like you say, and not really hard core power players like they should be.... then that means we still own the other guilds because theres what... 1, MAYBE 2 "good" players in any other guild at any given time. Taken as a whole, our 20 members with 5 "good" players versus knigglets 20 players with 1 "good" player, elfdar with their 20 players and 1 lungar, etc... I'm thinking Scythe still wins. )

elfdar also has peblo and my elfdork party companion..that guy of undead fame. not to mention the lovable huggable mcfuggable. but, the only flaw in your argument... elfdar has only one lunger(and one peblo) 1 elfdar lunger + 1 elfdar peblo > 4 scythers dunno if peblo counts though, since he plays in like 25 different guilds.

Lungar + peblo > Calvin + Machine? With necros, yeah... Maybe if ya change the > to a = I'd agree with ya. If you're saying lunger + peblo > any 4 average Scythers... sure... but then, calvin + machine is worth any 6 average elfdar. And Mcfuggin?? *snicker* Underpants? *grin* Come on.... Undie would be a good player, if he played anymore!!! You wanna go that way, Bleys logged in a few months ago to check his mail. And Sinister's still around, but he's too good for the rest of us... *duck**cower* And Capet still logs in once in a while. And Lanstro/Rhynst... Chun... And Lunarcee's around when there's a full moon... Delaney... Cailet... etc etc etc etc.

When Lunger and I insult the Scythe....at least when I do, I insult this new fairy version, a significiant number of which are a bunch of uptight whiners. Everytime something new, changes are made to the mud/huild ....I have to read 100 new posts of people boohooing because mommie took away their new toy or some such or they allowed a bunch of idlers in the mud.
Look, if you don't like the new people in the guild, do what I do, and just drive the c-o-c-k-s-u-c-k-e-r-s away with non stop bullying. It usually works for the wankers or else just ignore them.
Look for a period of time, I didn't know that the two bastards stealing my precious ritual components were alts of Lunger and Machine. Hopefully they can attest, than I did not whine, I did not bitch, and I did not threaten I did not run to mommie (Calvin). To Machine's rogue, I made all of 1 comment, "don't expect to tag again."
Basically I sucked it up and moved on. Of course I added a name to my $hitlist and when Machine (stupidly i might add) revealed his alt to me, I would just be a mean asshole to him. Basically there needs to be less whining and more action.
