********Title: 'basher shit:' // Pillarthree <19> Fri Jul 26 01:24:53 2002
well, here ya go.. here are the things i look for in a basher:
1. know the kills and areas. if for some reason, the basher has to climb, crawl, push a button, etc. i want them to be able to stay up with me.
2. drop/grab the heals in a timely manner. in my parties, it's a time issue. i do not like to have to wait on bashers to pick up heals forever.
3. if you are the heal basher, keep me bound. those extra sps come in handy, especially to a cleric.
4. do not use assist unless it is mandatory (i.e. orc mt guards). if you use assist, it tells me two things: you don't know the kills and you are too lazy to pay attention. i am paying attention the whole party, trying to stay alive. the least you can do is type out an alias or two.
5. have a good time. the whole point of this game is to have fun. i like killing shit fast, and to me that's having fun. people have fun in different ways. some like questing, some like claiming, some like just idling. i prefer to kill shit fast and in an efficient manner.
i do not think my list is too demanding, well.. maybe not as demanding as someone else's *cough*sinister*cough*. ah well. to each their own.

Bashers can now follow, etc.
With more str, tanks can now carry their own heals. Bashers no longer need to carry them for a group. The only roles for bashers now involve hitting their assist alias and picking up loot, both of which are usually late.
Good luck finding a basher that can bind wounds anymore... most tanks just end up doing it themselves.
*snort* Fuck assist.
Playing AA these days is like going to a job: too much work and not enough benefit for the effort.
It amazes me how much AA has paralleled the "real world" since this post seven years ago. By dumbing things down and rewarding mediocre play, AA is well on its way to <insert time of doom here>.

Also, was there some sort of recipe thread somewhere? I think Rich started it, but I can't for the life of me find it.
I need a good gumbo recipe. Introducing a bunch of internationals to the "bland" American food, so the more flavour the better. I was thinking a Cajun style alligator (crocodile) gumbo. Did a bunch of searching online, but none of them really peak my interest. Any suggestions?

Yes, I'm blind. I only did a search for 700 days, so that would explain why it didn't appear there either.
