Just to give curious minds an idea of what an "average necro" gets (and I'm pretty average if not maybe SLIGHTLY above average)..
Pretty average setup. Lich of resty, shiny pm, plat amulet, blackcrown, turkey robe, capt/lieut gloves/boots, fancy shield, outstanding sword, medallion of night.
Was working up longsword during this one. Pretty low.

<chaos> Kally gave each member 107500 gold coins.
also of note, I was pretty laid back in regards to speed on this one since I was raising longsword. probably could've squeezed another ~300k-400k (total)exp and 40k-50k (total)coins in there if I tried harder.

wow, they're pretty nice numbers you got there and a serious profit too! For a "slightly above average" necro too Just outta interest, did you hit many of the really high level areas, thraxi high guard / sydie / vexy ?

Not too sure what Vexy is (I'm still exploring some of the newer areas) .. I did get 1 1/2 Thraxi runs in (second run only one high guard reset). I did mostly old areas. My route was something akin to: scythe camp, raval, dalair, orc mt, palatial estate, anasazi, edf, drow outpost, knight retreat, fub's, fairy ring, fort vaugn, blor, kresh, knight stronghold, giant pit, burnham, wigwog, riog, anakim, zhammar, dwarf paladin+ancient red, star caves, giant steading, nepeth, buy loads of pots then hit thraxi.
ficers are definately a very ideal basher for a necromancer in my humble opinion. TONS of carrying room plus they dish out pretty nice damage.
I think my ideal 4 person party would be a ficer, fighter, and cleric. replacing a ficer with mage would probably be pretty equivalent as well I think. and fighter with a good ranger or rogue possibly. I love cleric bashers though. lets me empower more to throw out more lifesteals and rots to keep align so I can do some of the more non-ideal necro areas.
Today I did another quick party.. picked up a lich of yosra this time but same general equipment from last except no medallion of night plus I got a full round of blessings and a permed armour on lich and myself. used carved staff at 55 instead of raising longsword. picked up nailbunny and still had kally. it wasn't as great as last night (since almost no one plays late at night..) I had to compete against tyrael+chun and one or two other parties this time. both times I had checked on thraxi both high guards were dead so that was a little bit of wasted time and no yosra either.
I didn't save the pstat or pshare but for the first 40 minutes (with nailbunny and kally) we gathered somewhere close to 400k exp and about 120k total pshare(40k each). The next 40 minutes was just Kally and I and (this is the part I didn't really keep track of) we got somewhere around ~200k-250k exp with about a 60-80k total pshare. for those who see it better on a pstat layout

Very Impressive.
Please run a serious party with Kally now. I'd like to see how reasonable your expectations of 300-400k extra total exp is, over the 2.5 hrs.
And how would you rate Kally as a basher? Is (s)he also slightly above average?
Then we can annoint you the next Phil Mickelson (cause we all know Teh Lung is Tiger Woods), and I can return to being David Duval.
Whoa, what's with the golf analogies, I don't even watch golf.
Ummmm, let's go Yankees.

kally, btw, is a good basher. learned a lot from stretch and has picked up ficers very well. good on eq, selling, and dishing out damage. doesnt need to be told what to do. keeps up well in a fast party.

not knocking on kally by any means,
but i'm sure even a caveman could bash with how suped up artificers are.
and dualling revenants were unbalanced. pffft

two scorpions > dualing rev's of old

u cant compare the classes. setup time for a rev is like 2mins, setup for ficers is waaaay longer than that. u could bring in pallys in and say they are waay overpowered too, what with the equipment they have now and what with being able to take down the biggest kills in the game easily, solo. just look at who olds the top exp runs anyways, roll on (dont)downgrademe and perhaps a new fresh start for necros. cant wait to see what comes down the line

u cant compare the classes. setup time for a rev is like 2mins, setup for ficers is waaaay longer than that. but, a ficer can keep their scorps throughout the whole boot, basically two days. a necro has to keep getting their corpse every login.

Here's a valid comparison that needs answering.
Are 2 scorpions > old dual wielding revs in dealing damage?
There.

absolutely, positively, without a doubt, 100% YES
not to mention the insane carry capacity.

Most definitely, and as lunger says the carrying capacity is mind boggling. And opponents don't switch over to you randomly aside from at the very start of combat. And half of the damage is special damage so it always hits. And no cost in salves, just 50sp to repair.

they're so powerful, that i've really considered switching lung over to them. but, i know as soon as i do that, they'll be downgraded.

Thanks for all the high level information. In that case Sixclaw, I take back my comments, you're just average, maybe slightly below The #2 spot is still wide open.
