As far as gameplay vs reality...is it possibly for a Fighter to go all NiTo Ichi style and be effective with a longsword and a shortsword dualwielded? Even if only for skilling?

Quote of the Day: "In my Ichi school of the long sword there is netiher gate nor interior. There is no inner meaning in sword attitudes. You must simply keep your spirit true to realise the virtue of strategy."
Unfortunately, no. When I first began playing, I was wondering that too. I was really looking forward to dual wielding a katana and a wakizashi. So I made a fighter alt, and when I finally had 100 curved blade and 80 shortsword I decided to give it a try, and it sucked horribly. On this game, longswords do not dual well enough for it to be worth your time.

as far Machine's talk about 2ha flails, I agree with him as it doesn't make much sense for a tank to try that (speaking in terms of AA, not machine beating people up with a club irl, which lets me now understand why he is a good basher), but I don't think it would be such a bad idea for a basher, since the tank would perhaps get mauled down because of having no defense, but generally bashers(fighters with berserk especially) sacrifice all defense to bash harder. If there were some way to make the person more vulnerable when wielding this 2ha flail, that might make sense that way tanks don't use it because of the previously discussed reasons. Just throwing in my 2 cents.
