- kill balan beast 13n6w4s5wn say i want an audience with the king 2n say help accept wield sword 3s3w4nwuen kill beast
- run cx (below L6 you earn 1k exp for every 3k coins)
- a certain quest gives exp once per boot
- make sure you are using a ps weapon
- train with zhou on said weapon
- with cash from cx, buy meds and keep yourself constantly bound; using this method you should never have to sleep in the manor or use the healing room in the ship
- good low killing areas i use: puffin beach haunted manor haunted ship fairy ring ravel
currently, i'm raising a dwarf cleric, pillarwiz. only eq i used til level 10 was:
shield (usually hoplon, silver gob, green, black) ps weapon: 00-10 flask of oil 11-15 medium fishing pole 16-22 battered frying pan 23-27 gnarled club 28-32 heavy mace 33-38 moc/warclub, whatever i could get my hands on soft sack medicinals
know what you can fight and what you can't. don't attempt to kill things harder than you just to say you can. that wastes time. using the above methods, you should be able to get a L10 char in about 3-4 hours, tops. i had 27 club at L10, maxxed stats.

All you need to say to the Palace Guards is 'the king

Or you could just make it "say I want to pass you to spy on people and visit the princess and help the king", and suddenly you've got one alias that works for Balan, Andeli, Burnham, Elfdar, and Venletta.

*bow* You can also stack the Knight's Stronghold words (if you know them all) to avoid the tapestry, which is particularly helpful to me because I want Diablo before I try for the surcoat. All together is too long for one alias, but you can break it up into two.

alias saytheknightstrongholdwords say words1 words2 words3 nick words1 Hail florin halforc blah blah nick words2 elves are a tasty blah blah nick words3 all hail rah rah blah
Saves one alias space, which is probably going to be more beneficial than nick space.
After that kickass greeting alias I'm going through my own alias and economising. I've managed to add about 50 different commands while at the same time CREATING SPACE. There is some clever damn stuff you can do with 'alias blahblah do alias 1 blah, alias 2 blah, alias 3 blah' to reduce space.
Of course when I actually play I'll probably only remember like 5% of the aliases I've made. *twiddle*

F'n sweet on the words, KC. I didn't even think about using nicks for them. I'll be changing that around right now...

Why not just put them in the alias instead of referencing nicks?

Gives you some message about how the alias is too long, since there are so many possible keywords in the stronghold.

where can some of the low level shields, hats, boots, and gloves be found?

at low levels, i usually use the following:
stone helmet cuirbolli leather armour
once i can sing/attune, then i use stone helmet and radiant armour until i can carry enough to use boots gloves etc.
as far as shields go, i'm no expert, but i'd guess that fine hide shield is good enough for low levels. once money is no issue, go with green or black shield until you can carry silver goblin or fancy

Boots and gloves, at low levels, are really wasted weight. The AC bonus from them is negligible, and the 2 bottles of carry capacity you lose aren't worth it. Fine Hoplon shield from the underground area (Riognach, Hyperies, Cassandra, etc) is about the same as a fine hide shield, if you see it in the shops or can get someone to kill for one. the Cuirbolli leather armour is from the Hobbittat sherrif, who can be a bit of a pain to kill at low levels... but again, is real easy for a bigger char to kill for ya. The stone helmet is from the Princess in the blor area... find the keys and the shovel, and the spot to dig, and you've got it.... (Might even be in the "how to get" section.. not sure tho)
