Saffie the goat?? Wields shadow sword, throws hungas, shoots lighting and flame, uses necro rituals? Fear. Good thing I have no idea where this bad-ass goat is...

I'm pretty surprised to see that Ceranyx is the only NPC on this list to get any votes. I'm wondering if this is because most of the people posting here primarily use the tank/basher style of playing and that makes him seem overly rough?
I've only ever fought Ceranyx solo and he seems to be a pretty hard hitting (6k?) kill, but nothing to write home about... is there something I'm missing?

maybe you're thinking about the other ceranyx, the one that isn't called ceranyx.

i mean, he's easy solo, but still does damage, and makes you use up mad heals, plus you have to get to him... and he's usualy worth 20k'ish xp the first time his killed, not realy 6k

duh..........
That, and I'd say Velox gets 2nd.... amazingly, the top two level kills on the mud get 1 & 2 spots. go figure. Although............. those large thunt npcs are pretty fearsome...... Can you say "Ancient Lich" ?

As far as Necros played by Sinister are concerned:
Ancient Lich (which I've never even met) is my choice for toughest npc, followed by Velox. Then the big dragon, then the T-Hunt Paladin, then the smaller dragon.
I'd rank velox higher because
1) You have to first fight another undead immune to rituals in a room you'd better be able to get out of quick if necessary! 2) Velox poisons, which inconveniences healing dramatically, in addition to wasting tolerance allocation on cure poison potions.
Lastly among the "lower" level monsters, Zeb. You know hawkeye hits harder so you're ready, but I'm always surprised when I'm at high 60s in hps and i'm suddenly dead. he killed my 2 prior efficiency characters and was my first death in my current and final incarnation.

Are you sure velox is an undead? I know his race responds to demon, but I didn't think he was an undead in the same sense as Arkuldash. I've never treid to harm him, have you attempted a rot? Interesting. I'll have to give it a go next time I login My vote for hardest 9k is most definately Arkuldash fuckers killed me twice, and hes only surpassed by the lvl 22s+ for difficulty in killing, but on pure 'scarey'ness for me its #1 Valdrath then #2 Arkuldash. Vallys ansii spam can be hell unnerving, and well Arkul is the biggest deathtrap in the game.

That's exactly what I mean
Just to get to Velox, you have to kill Arkuldash which as you said is in of itself a deathtrap. The way I look at things, you don't, just kill Velox in a vaccum, you have to include Arkuldash. So I consider the pair whenever I decide to try Velox (which isn't often). 8k+ ~ 90k for a 20 minute fight + a lost of a ton of coins? I'll pass. Stack? Yeah right.
Yes, you can use rituals on Velox.

I guess I'm thinkin on the basis of killing Velox and Arky with Calvin on exp runs, and Palpatine solo while working on getting the Eagle Clan eq. Cuz he's not that much harder than the large thunt npcs or thraxi when you're wielding chain staff in fury mode, chucking a hunga every round, with unlimited medicine... and he's not THAT hard to solo, it just takes for EVER to get him dead. Unless you get way saintly first... MUCH easier on the heals that way.

Can you say "Ancient Lich" ? i find that ancient lich way scarier than Velox. Just the constant insane damage.

personally i think that a lich of Iannis or something equal, when commanded by myself or Sinister, is a lot better than any of the aforementioned npcs
