I've removed the post until the area is older and more people have explored it.
It's from dafeon's storm dragon area, and the armour can be very good - quick summary.

I'm going to try to revive this thread a little. I didn't realize that Ironwood was the category killer that made revenant obsolete for necros until Gyn posted.
I basically have an idea about the specials, what I'm curious about is, is the armour unique? pieces additive? (ie do I really need a complete set or can I go with 3 or 4 and motley setup of other eq?)
For example, what appears to be the most useless armour (to me) the horse armour, if I have a full set, how good is the horse armour relative to say AoG/HoH or StarArmour with all the gems?

apparently the more pieces you have the better the bonus you get. eg. if it was resistances then the more pieces you have the higher your resistances go up. i suspect the huge ac bonus only kicks in when you have the full set and only when you are killing horses or humans or whatever the set is for. if it's resistances then i'm not sure.
on another note, there's an excellent general equipment set from the Eagleclan area. Defender gear. similarly, you dont get the huge bonus to ac until you have all the pieces but when you do u can forget star armour...

Unique though?

not unique. a bit of a pain to get a full set (10 pieces i think), but there can be a few set floating around. you may even find some of the parts in a shop.

www.aawiki.net/index.php?title=Ironwood_ArmourIf you have more questions about ironwood armour... It won't tell you how to get it, but it'll tell you what the sets are and what the bonuses are. Also, it's updated by different players when there's a reboot, and occasionally, when there's a crash.
